- Hello,
-
- Have fun with this complete working environment for NET/Mac and IM/Mac.
-
- NET/Mac is the TCP/IP application that should be running (if possible)
- 24 hours a day, while IM/Mac is the mailer that you can use to read
- incoming mail and/or write outgoing mail.
-
- This stuff is intended for those that are going to set up a hamradio-
- station with a Macintosh and a transceiver. The connection between the
- transceiver and the Mac may be accomplished by using a TNC (terminal node
- controller) which supports the KISS protocol, or by using a PacketMac modem
- as described in one of the files inside the SoftKiss folder. In this case
- you also have to install the SoftKiss software.
-
- The only thing you need besides this software and the hardware I just
- told you about is an IP-number. Without an IP-number you cannot (should
- not) activate your TCP/IP station. You must ask for an IP-number at your
- national IP-number coordinator. Ask around to find out who he/she is, and
- how to get a number.
-
- NOTE that the files autoexec.net, hosts.net, ftpusers, alias and bm.rc
- are my own configurationfiles. Please don't put the transmitter on air
- while using these files. These files are just examples to get you going.
